Frequently Asked Questions

  • What if we go out of town? Do you offer any as-needed services?
Yes! We offer drop in services where we’ll collect your eggs and make sure your chickens are fed and watered. Drop in services are $55.00 a visit.
  • Are the hens friendly?
Our hens are friendly! As with any animal the more time you spend with them, the more they’ll get used to you. Also the more time you spend with them the more you will start to learn their quirks and personalities.
  • How many eggs does a chicken lay a week?
On average, a healthy chicken lays about 5-7 eggs a week. This can vary based on the breed, age, diet, and environmental factors. Younger hens may lay more eggs, while older hens might lay fewer eggs. Keep in mind that chickens don't lay eggs every single day – their egg-laying cycle typically includes a day of rest every so often.
  • How do I know if chickens are right for me?
We believe that with our services chickens can be accessible for anyone.
  • What are some of the benefits of having chickens?
Quality of the eggs! Our family loves the fresh egg taste of fresh eggs, and they do not have preservatives or chemicals to extend their shelf life. With rising egg prices, many people are looking for ways to save money and enjoy fresh, homegrown eggs every day. If you’ve ever considered getting chickens, we’re here to help make it easy for you to test the waters and see if they’re the right fit for your lifestyle—without a full commitment.
